Selected Malaysia Representative: 3rd ACS EDU Programme
Result
I was selected as a Malaysian representative for the 3rd ACS EDU Programme, an international cybersecurity education programme supported by the Korea Internet & Security Agency and the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund.
I began the programme on 17 February 2025 and successfully completed its structured cybersecurity training and final project.
My contribution
Throughout the programme, I participated in technical training covering areas such as:
- Digital forensics
- Web application security
- Real-world web exploitation
- Cybersecurity investigation
- Practical security testing
- CTF challenge development
For the final group project, I served as the group leader for the development of ACS Websploit, a CTFd-based cybersecurity training platform focused on web development and web exploitation.
My responsibilities included:
- Coordinating the project team
- Planning the platform structure
- Developing and organizing web exploitation challenges
- Configuring the CTFd platform
- Supporting challenge testing
- Managing task distribution
- Presenting the completed project
- Ensuring that the platform provided a structured learning experience
The programme also allowed me to collaborate and connect with participants from different countries across Asia.
Why it matters
Being selected for the ACS EDU Programme gave me exposure to an international cybersecurity learning environment.
It strengthened both my technical and leadership skills by requiring me to complete practical training, collaborate across different backgrounds, and lead a cybersecurity platform project.
Although I was not selected as one of the programme’s Outstanding Students, completing the programme remains an achievement that I am proud of because of the knowledge, experience, and professional connections I gained.
The experience later influenced my continued work with CTF platforms, challenge development, cybersecurity education, and cyber range projects.
