A Day at the National Cybersecurity Summit 2026
Today, I spent almost the entire day commuting from the new LRT Shah Alam line to Bandar Utama, then to TRX, Putrajaya Sentral, and finally using RapidKL on Demand to reach the National Cybersecurity Summit 2026 at PICC.
I travelled with my friends, and honestly, even though we spent more time travelling than actually being at PICC, the journey was still enjoyable. We got to talk, joke around, and spend time together before finishing our final year. At this point, even the long train journey became part of the experience.
At the summit, I had the opportunity to explore different booths and learn about cybersecurity products, services, and technologies used in the industry. The representatives were friendly and willing to explain what their companies were working on.
Seeing professionals share their knowledge and demonstrate real cybersecurity solutions inspired me. As a student interested in malware analysis, reverse engineering, digital forensics, and cybersecurity infrastructure, events like this help me understand how those interests can translate into an actual career.
It was also interesting to see the scale of Malaysia’s cybersecurity ecosystem. Cybersecurity is not only about penetration testing or solving CTF challenges. It also involves governance, threat intelligence, incident response, cloud security, digital forensics, awareness, and many other areas.
The experience made me hope that one day, I could return to an event like this not only as a student walking around the exhibition, but as one of the professionals sharing knowledge and presenting something meaningful.
Even though the journey was tiring, spending the day with my friends and learning more about the industry made it worth it.
And of course, I cannot end this post without mentioning one of the most important parts of the event: the food was really good.
